Our Approach

East African Solutions is a strategic advisory firm working with clients, delivery partners, consultants and other organisations across multiple jurisdictions. We recognise that modern-slavery risks can arise through employment practices, contractors, intermediaries, procurement and complex supply chains.

We take a proportionate, risk-based approach to identifying and responding to these risks. Where appropriate to an engagement, this may include:

• considering the location, sector and nature of the proposed activity;

• assessing prospective clients, contractors and delivery partners;

• seeking information about employment, recruitment or supply-chain practices;

• including appropriate ethical and legal obligations within engagement arrangements; and

• investigating credible concerns brought to our attention.

Expectations of Others

We expect employees, representatives, consultants and organisations working with East African Solutions to comply with applicable labour and human-rights laws and to refrain from any practice involving coercion, trafficking, forced labour or exploitation.

East African Solutions does not claim to supervise every aspect of a client’s or partner’s operations. However, we will not knowingly support an activity involving modern slavery or human trafficking.

Responding to Concerns

Where a credible concern arises, we may seek further information, require appropriate corrective action or decline, suspend or terminate the relevant relationship. Where required or appropriate, concerns may also be referred to the relevant authority, with consideration given to the safety and interests of affected individuals.

No person should suffer retaliation for raising a genuine concern in good faith.
